International Medical Tourism Wellness & Spa Congress 2012

Private Hospitals Association PHA and in Collaboration with the Medical Tourism Association MTA organized the International Medical Tourism, Wellness & Spa Congress that took place at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention center during the period from 18th – 20th March 2012.

The first edition of the congress that lasted for 3 extensive days was a great success attracting almost 300 delegates and exhibitors representing medical services providers and buyers from 25 different countries and was able to provide a platform for networking as well as interacting between industry players from all over the world.

The two days congress sessions and panel discussions witnessed the participation of high world class speakers, who were able to advocate participants for a better understanding of the benefits of medical and wellness tourism worldwide in addition in identifying emerging innovations and international standards fostering a better understanding of opportunities.

And with the aim of introducing medical services offered in the private member hospitals the third day of the congress witnessed a familiarization tour and visits foreign buyers from medical tourism facilitators and insurance companies participating in the congress to seven member hospitals in order to inform them with the high quality of medical services, cutting edged medical equipments and technologies used in these hotels and the competitive prices offered in Jordanian private hospital.

Negotiations between participating buyers and private Jordanian hospitals to treat patients from abroad in these hospitals are now under process and agreements with companies from Iraq, Sudan, Sultanate of Oman, Ukraine, Nigeria will be signed shortly and the Private Hospitals Association PHA will also be signing in collaboration with Medical Tourism Association MTA, One World Company and companies from Nigeria an MOU to start organizing promotional events in Nigeria and to organize patient treatment protocol for Nigerian patients who like to have medical treatment in Jordan as Jordan consist for them an excellent and competitive medical tourism destination.

Official delegates representing Dubai Health Authority headed by HE Qadi Mroshid president of DHA attended the congress as well as official delegations from Ministry of Health In Bahrain, Ministry of Defense in Sultanate of Oman and Ministries of Health and International Trade in Turkey who all appreciated the excellent organization of the congress and the high level of international participations.

At the end and during the Gala dinner the Medical Tourism Association MTA has awarded the Private Hospitals Association with the excellence award trophy in recognition of Jordan`s Life – Saving Achievements for the citizens of Libya.
