Jordan Joins the International Hospitals Federation (IHF) through the Private Hospitals Association Membership

      Jordan has become a member of the International Hospital Federation (IHF) through the full membership of The Private Hospitals Association in cooperation with the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) and in coordination with all health sectors in Jordan, including: private, government, military and university hospitals.   The Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Fawzi Al Hammouri stated that this step is a result of the association's keenness in being a representative within healthcare councils, organizations and federations both locally and internationally and strengthening Jordan’s position internationally  in healthcare, displaying the medical achievements, as well as contributing to improve health through providing healthcare institutions and facilities that are suitable and well managed. PHA Receives "Distinguished Healthcare Sector in Supporting Medical Tourism" Award

The Private Hospitals Association "PHA" received an award titled "Distinguished Healthcare Sector in Supporting Medical tourism" for the cooperation between the governmental and private healthcare sectors in Jordan with regards to medical tourism during the Arab Hospitals Federation forum that was held in the State of Kuwait from the 10th until the 11th of April 2019. Kuwait's Minister of Health, Dr. Sheikh Basel Al-Sabah, and Secretary General of the Arab Hospitals Federation, Prof. Tawfik Khoja, delivered the award to Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association. This award is in recognition of the remarkable successes achieved by the Jordanian healthcare sector, which had made it the first medical tourism destination in the region and its ability to deal with regional political and security situations in a number of Arab countries, as well as the model of public-private partnership.

Sanjiv Malik Award

  Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association Jordan, was awarded The Sanjiv Malik Lifetime Achievement Award 2016, which was announced at the International Medical Travel Journal Summit that was held in Madrid.     The Sanjiv Malik Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an individual who, in the opinion of the judges, has made a significant contribution to the development of medical travel and medical tourism over many years. Dr. Al-Hammouri received the award for his outstanding efforts in the development of medical tourism in Jordan and in the region and internationally, his actions have demonstrated his significant contribution to the development of medical travel and medical tourism over many years in the MENA region.   He is one of the most internationally known figures as a speaker and expert to be hosted at various international conferences. He played an important role in highlighting Jordan's name internationally. He was elected as the President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, which includes all countries that deal with the therapeutic tourism.

Best Medical Tourism Destination

In 2014 Jordan represented by the Association won the Best Medical Tourism Destination Award, which is awarded by the international Medical Tourism Journal. The award is granted to the medical tourism destination with unparalleled quantities of medical services to patients from outside Jordan.

Global Healthcare Leadership Award

In 2015 the Private Hospitals Association was presented with Global Healthcare Leadership award by the Medical Tourism Association for its ongoing success in developing medical tourism and humanitarian aid for refugees in the global healthcare industry at the 8th Annual World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress.

The Seal of Excellence

“The Seal of Excellence” award from the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence in 2013. King Abdulla Center of Excellence manages the “King Abdullah II Seal of Excellence” 2013, which is considered the most prestigious award for excellence on the national level and in all sectors. KACE is considered the national reference for quality and excellence in all sectors. It's role is to promote the culture of excellence in order to increase Jordan's international competitiveness with the ultimate goal of ensuring a prosperous future for Jordan.

Best Practices Award

“Best Practices Award” from the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence in 2009 & 2011 The Award is the highest level of recognition for business associations and not-for-profit organizations in Jordan. The Award was established to set standards for business associations and not-for-profit organizations based on international best practices.

Global Healthcare Travel Council

PHA is a Member of Global Healthcare Travel council   Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri , the chairman of the Private Hospitals Association was elected as the President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council during the second General Assembly meeting of the Council in Dubai which was held on the 8th of October 2015 and attended by representatives of 22 countries, for the duration from 2015-2017. This Election confirmed Jordan’s status as Global destination for Medical Tourism.

Jordan Meetings & Conferences Ambassador

PHA Chairman Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri was awarded the “Jordan Meetings & Conferences Ambassador” in honor of PHA’s and his personal efforts to organize annual medical tourism conferences to promote Jordan as a prime medical tourism destination. Jordan Tourism Board launched the Jordan International Conferences Ambassador Program which identifies potential ambassadors – high profile representatives of various fields – to raise awareness about Jordan. This program assists Jordanians to gain international recognition in sectors such as medicine, academia, and business in order to promote Jordan as a viable destination for meetings and conferences.
