Huge Success for Jordan Delegation Participation in IMTEC Oman 2017

(Amman- 7 April 2017)- the 5th Oman International Medical Tourism Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC) that concluded on Thursday April 6th 2017, witnessed a huge success for the Jordanian pavilion as 7 major hospitals from the private sector showcased Jordan’s Success story in Medical tourism in addition to a special booth dedicated to the Private Hospitals Association.

The 7 Jordanian hospitals that participated at the Jordanian pavilion in the IMTEC 2017 were: Jordan Hospital, Istishari Hospital, Essra Hsopital, Speciality Hospital, Al-Khalidi Hospital and Medical Centre and AL-Rashid Hospital Centre for Psychiatry, all of which are members of the Jordan Medical Tourism Consortium JMTC; a coalition of private hospitals involved with medical tourism that is supported by the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program, with the PHA as an implementing partner. In addition to Istiqlal hospital. Moreover, Jordan’s participation was crowned by a very important presentation by Mr. Rifat Al-Masri, PHA board member about Jordan as a prime medical tourism destination and the many benefits it offers to patients.

During the Opening ceremony that was held under the patronage of Dr. Sultan Bin Yarub Al-Busaidi, advisor to the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, Mr. Rifat Al-Masri board member of PHA presented the exhibition’s patron with a special gift from Jordan representing mutual cooperation between the two nations.

Jordanian delegation member’s also conducted several official visits to discuss various ways of mutual cooperation with the Omani health sector, these visits included: the Omani Armed Forces Medical services where they met with Dr. Ahmad Abdali, Kems Oman private hospital and the Jordanian Embassy.

Ms. Nisreeen Qussous Charge d’affair at the Jordanian Embassy in Muscat welcomed the Jordanian delegation and stressed on the importance of Jordan’s health sector and praised its efforts to promote Jordan as a major medical tourism destination in the region.

Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, thanked the Jordanian embassy in Muscat for their warm welcome, and emphasized on the importance of participating in international and regional conferences to promote Jordan as a prime medical tourism destination. He hoped that this participation will create a lot of cooperation opportunities with Omani health authorities that will eventually reflect on more Omani patients coming to Jordan for treatment.
