Following a series of meetings held at the Private Hospitals Association and the Income and Sales Tax Department, attended by the Association's Board of Directors and the Director General of the Tax Department, as well as multiple meetings conducted by the joint technical committee comprising representatives from the department, the association, and a number of private hospitals, and after completing the preparation of the platform designed for automated linkage purposes at the Income and Sales Tax Department, the specialized automated system for direct linkage with private hospitals was officially launched. This announcement came during a meeting held this morning, Monday, March 17, 2026, between the President of the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, and the Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali. The meeting witnessed the announcement of the completion of the linkage process for Specialize Hospital with the Income and Tax Department as the first private hospital to join this new system, as part of the department's plan to gradually link all hospitals and medical centers in the upcoming phase. Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri affirmed that this step comes within the efforts of the Association and the Income and Tax Department to enhance transparency and credibility, and to consolidate tax fairness in a way that ensures smooth tax declaration procedures for hospitals. He considered that the automated linkage system will reduce the burdens previously borne by private hospital staff in providing monthly tax data to the department. Al-Hammouri praised the efforts of the joint committees that worked on completing this system. Al-Hammouri pointed out the strategic importance of the system in putting an end to arbitrary assessments that previously burdened the sector, explaining that the automated linkage process will provide all necessary tax information in an organized and immediate manner, which will contribute to facilitating and accelerating procedures for hospitals to obtain clearance statements from the department, which have become necessary for completing many of the daily procedures required by hospitals. For his part, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali emphasized that this system will eliminate the discretion and differences in estimates between the department's auditors and the financial departments in hospitals, providing an easy and accurate mechanism for exchanging tax information with hospitals and doctors. It will limit discretion and differences between the department's auditors and the financial departments in hospitals as well as with doctors, which will positively reflect on the business environment and achieve the desired stability for the healthcare sector. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Private Hospitals Association, represented by its President Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri and its Board of Directors, for the success of this project.
