The General Assembly of the Private Hospitals Association held its ordinary meeting on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Association’s headquarters, with the attendance of all members. During the meeting, the administrative and financial reports were presented, discussed, and approved, in addition to the election of a new Board Members.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Association’s President, Dr. Nael Al-Masalha, delivered a detailed report on the performance of the Board Members during the previous term. He highlighted the Association’s key achievements, including strengthening its position as the main representative of private hospitals in Jordan, addressing the accumulated Libyan debt issue, and promoting medical tourism through the development of the “Salamatak” platform. He also pointed to the Association’s active participation in international specialized conferences and exhibitions, and its representation of members in various councils and committees.
The report also emphasized the Association’s contribution to humanitarian relief efforts for the Gaza Strip.
A new Board Members were elected under the supervision of the Election Committee, which included Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Atoom, and in the presence of the representative of the Ministry of Social Development, Mr. Saleh Al-Awamleh.
The election results led to the victory of the “Injaz candidate group”, which secured all seats on the Association’s Board. The elected hospitals were:
· Specialty Hospital
· Irbid Specialty Hospital
· Jordan Hospital
· Al-Rashid Hospital
· Islamic Hospital
· Italian Hospital
· Marka Specialty Hospital
Following the elections, the newly formed Board Members held its first meeting, during which the following appointments were made:
· Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, General Manager of Specialty Hospital – Chairman of the Board
· Dr. Wasfi Al-Rashdan, General Manager of Irbid Specialty Hospital – Vice President
· Dr. Mohammad Al-Thneibat, General Manager of the Islamic Hospital – Secretary General
· Mr. Rifaat Al-Masri, General Manager of Al-Rashid Hospital – Treasurer
The Board also included the following members:
· Dr. Abdullah Al-Bashir, General Manager of Jordan Hospital
· Dr. Khaled Shamas, General Manager of the Italian Hospital
· Dr. Bassel Al-Mashharawi, General Manager of Marka Specialty Hospital
The meeting concluded with a confirmation of the Association’s commitment to continue its dedicated efforts to enhance the position of Jordan’s private healthcare sector locally and regionally, improve the quality of services provided to patients, and expand opportunities for international cooperation in advanced healthcare fields.
