The Private Hospitals Association organized “The International Healthcare Travel Forum IHTF2022”, in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Health and the Jordan Tourism Board, and in cooperation with the International Hospital Federation(IHF),the Global Healthcare Travel Council(GHTC) and the Arab Hospitals Federation(AHF), which was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein and represented at the opening ceremony by His Majesty’s reprehensive; the Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari on the 19th of Nov, 2022, under the theme: "Amman, the Arab Medical Capital".
The forum is considered the largest in the world in the field of Medical Tourism and Healthcare Travel, as it included 11 specialized sessions in various fields related to the healthcare sector and Medical Tourism and it witnessed a large attendance, including more than 1000 people from 52 Arab and foreign countries, representing a wide range of sectors related to Medical and Wellness Tourism which made this forum the largest forum specialized in Healthcare Travel in the MENA region.
The forum included a specialized exhibition where many private hospitals, institutions related to the pharmaceutical industries and medical equipment, medical tourism marketing agencies, banking institutions and media from inside and outside Jordan have participated, while about 76 speakers participated in the sessions. Which made it the largest forum specialized in medical tourism and healthcare travel in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The forum which concluded its activities on Nov 21,2022, came out with several recommendations aimed at strengthening Jordan's position as a destination for medical tourism and healthcare travel, as an implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision launched under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
