Al- Hammouri presents the Jordanian model for Healthcare Travel during his participation in the Africa Health Excon

 

  

 

Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association, participated in the Africa Health Excon, which was held under the patronage and participation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, during the period from 5-7 June 2022.

Al-Hammouri presented the main lecture in the Medical Tourism session, in which he reviewed the eight axes of the Amman Declaration, which aims to expand the umbrella of healthcare travel, including, in addition to Medical Tourism; Dental Tourism, Spa Tourism, Wellness Tourism, Culinary Tourism, Sports Tourism, Accessible Tourism and Assisted Residential Tourism.

He stressed the economic importance of healthcare travel at the regional and global levels, noting that the volume of wellness tourism worldwide exceeds $600 billion annually, while the volume of medical tourism exceeds $100 billion annually, with more than 40 sectors participating in medical and hospital tourism.

The participation of the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association came at the invitation of the conference organizers to get acquainted with the Jordanian experience in medical and hospital tourism, where the attendees praised the distinguished medical reputation acquired by the Jordanian health sector.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association met with a number of officials in the Egyptian public and private health sector to discuss opportunities for exchanging experiences and enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the health field.
