Al-Hammouri appreciates his majesty talk About medical tourism in the Kingdom

 

The chairman of the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, highly praised His Majesty King Abdullah ll interview to the American Journal “Travel Weekly” which specialized in tourism, in which his Majesty stressed the importance of medical tourism in the national economy and its impact on many other sectors in the Kingdom.
 
Dr. Al-Hammouri welcomed the content of the interview and which included his majesty confirmation that medical tourism is a great source of revenue because of the advanced level of medical services in the Kingdom. In addition to his Majesty call for the need to change some laws so that would advance Jordan rank as the fifth destination for medical tourism in the world, and his previously praising of the importance of this sector in international television stations, including CNN and CNBC, and during his Majesty's visits to various countries in the world.
 
Al-Hammouri said that His Majesty's comments reflected the King's keenness to support the Jordanian health sector and to strengthen Jordan's position as a major destination for medical tourism in the region and the world and as this rises the hospital sector and increases investments and creating job opportunities for Jordanians in the health sector and in supporting sectors such as Hotel, commercial, telecommunications and transportation sectors and other various services.
 
  
Al-Hammouri added that His Majesty King Abdullah II presented in his interview a true and clear picture of Jordan as a safe country, an open and hospitable people and as a country possesses all the elements that enable it to be targeted for various forms of tourism and encourages attracting tourists from different nationalities to visit it and take advantage of the excellent services offered to them and visit archaeological, religious, historical and tourist sites.
 
He said that the comments of His Majesty will give a strong boost to all forms of tourism in the Kingdom, and support all relevant sectors especially that the one who talk about it is the top of the pyramid in the State of Jordan.
 
Al-Hammouri stressed that the King's comments places a big responsibility on those who’s maintaining the quality of health services provided to Jordanian, Arab and foreign patients, and to fulfill more achievements and introduce modern techniques in medicine in order to keep Jordan at the forefront of the region in the health services field.
 
Al-Hammouri affirmed that the recent decisions of the Council of Ministers approving the recommendations submitted by the Private Hospitals Association, which include several procedures to facilitate the entry of patients and their companions from the restricted countries that include Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Chad and Ethiopia will contribute to increasing the number of patients coming to the Kingdom, 
 
In addition to the formation of the National Committee for the Promotion of Medical Tourism, which includes all concerned parties, in order to ensure a comfortable experience for the patient who comes to Jordan for treatment from the moment of arrival until his departure to his country.
 
Al Hammouri pointed to the need to take advantage of the "Amman Declaration to Expand the Health Travel Umbrella" which includes 8 areas: medical tourism, dental tourism, Spa tourism, Wellness tourism,  Culinary tourism, sports tourism, , And promoting Jordan in these eight axes will multiply to exceed one million visitors annually for health reasons.
