Al Hammouri appreciates royal directives to Stop The tax raise on medicine

The President of the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri hailed the Supreme Royal directives to the Council of Ministers to cancel the increase imposed on the sales tax on medicines as a result of His Majesty King Abdullah II concern on the difficult economic conditions experienced by patients and their families.

Al Hammouri said, these directives are a translation of what we have been entrusted by His Majesty the Leader of the country and his coexistence with the reality of the Jordanian citizens who were burdened by the recent government decisions, which led to the high prices of a large number of materials and increased the burdens on the Jordanian citizen.

Al-Hammouri added that the Royal directives also represent a victory from His Majesty King Abdullah II to the appeals made by various parties including the Private Hospitals Association which called on the government to reverse the decision to raise the tax on medicine.

He said that the government's implementation of these directives will relieve citizens of the increasing burden of life, especially those who suffer from chronic diseases and limited income.

Dr. Al-Hammouri expressed the hope that the government will also review the other decisions taken recently and led to higher prices of consumables and medical supplies after raising sales tax from 4% to 16%, which had a negative impact on the Jordanian patient and Arab patients who come to Jordan for treatment.
