The Private Hospitals Association (PHA) organized a specialized workshop entitled “The effect of Sterilization in the health sector”.
The workshop introduced the importance of sterilization and disinfection and the various mechanisms used to reduce the number of germs and their impact in hospitals and medical centers, it also focused on the responsible parties to maintain proper sterilization mechanism and suggested ways to improve sterilization procedures. The workshop also focused on the proper measures to handle both medical and non-medical waste and what kind of hazards will result when adopting non-proper handling measures.
Sterilization Specialist, Eng. Mou’nes Barood, stressed the importance of abiding to proper sterilization procedures to reduce and eliminate different kinds of pathogens and their harmful effect on patients in hospitals and medical centers.
Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, PHA Chairman, commented on this workshop saying: “Sterilization is one of the main points that hospitals must give proper attention to, that is why we made it a point to include it among the topics that we are presenting in our monthly workshops as part of PHA’s role in training member hospitals and trying to improve their capabilities to provide better healthcare to patients”.
