Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Awarded AL-Hammouri “Jordan Meetings and Conferences Ambassador” Award

 

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab honored the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri “Jordan Meetings & Conferences Ambassador” Award for his distinguished role in organizing international conferences which attracted many VIPs and guests, thus encouraging tourism in Jordan.

This award comes as a tribute to PHA’s efforts in organizing annual conferences on Medical Tourism, that are aimed at marketing and strengthening Jordan's position as a favorable medical tourism destination. These activities were culminated earlier this year by organizing the “Global Healthcare Travel Forum” under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and was inaugurated by His Excellency the Prime Minister Dr. Hani Al-Mulqi. The Forum attracted more than 650 participants from 41 countries. For his part, Dr. Al-Hammouri expressed his appreciation to HE the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board for this honor, stressing the importance of conference tourism in strengthening Jordan's position as a regional hub for international conferences in various fields especially those related to medicine, health and medical tourism, saying: “Jordan’s strategic location and its distinguished political ties with many countries around the world make it a favorable destination for conferences especially that we have a solid infrastructure which ensures ease of logistical and technical preparations”.

The award was given during a ceremony organized by the Jordan Tourism Board to launch a specialized unit for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Tourism.
