Private Hospitals Association Hosts Kurdish Iraq Media to Promote Medical Tourism in Jordan

   

 

 
The Private Hospitals Association hosted a media team from Kurdistan – Iraq to promote the medical and therapeutic tourism in the Kingdom during 10-15/8/2018.
 
In coordination with the Consulate General in Irbil, a tour for the media team was conducted to visit a number of private hospitals, namely Jordan Hospital, Amman Hospital, Specialty Hospital, Al Esraa Hospital, Ibn al-Haytham Hospital and Farah Hospital. The delegation which consisted of (broadcasters, journalists, photographers and one figure doctor coming from famous Kurdish channels and news sites in Iraq) had the chance to witness the advanced and innovative standards of the medical services provided by the hospitals offered to patients coming from all around the world.
 
The Private Hospitals Association, in collaboration with the Jordan Tourism Board and Medical Tourism Directorate at the Ministry of Health, organized a tour for members of the Iraqi Media Team in the Dead Sea area and Maeen hot springs, where they were briefed on the therapeutic services available.
 
Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri – President of the Private Hospitals Association met with the media team to explain Jordan’s medical achievements over the past five decades leading to pin Jordan on the map among the most advanced countries in the medical and therapeutic sectors and making it a destination for international patients.
 
Dr. Al-Hamouri pointed on the strengths of Jordan’s medical tourism sector, which include the security and political stability, ease of entry for many nationalities including patients from the Kurdistan-Iraq, and the medical services competitive prices compared to the offered by other countries, also the accreditation of private hospitals locally and internationally, in addition to the implementation of quality assurance programs, the investment of modern medical devices, the absence of patient waiting times. And finally the investment of highly skilled and efficient Jordanian personnel; especially the doctors reaching the highest number on the region scale.
 
He referred to the percentage of private hospitals representing 60 percent of the total number of hospitals operating in the Kingdom, equipped with the best medical supplies comparable to world famous hospitals.
Dr. Al-Hamouri spoke about Jordan's achievements, including winning the Best Destination Award for Medical Tourism in 2014 and the election of the President of PHA as the representative of Jordan for the presidency of the World Council of Medical Tourism for two consecutive years, which is considered as an international recognition of Jordan's high position as a regional center for therapeutic tourism
He added that stemming out of the keenness of reinforcing and building strong ties with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, free medical days in Erbil were organized along with meetings with senior officials in the region.
 
Dr. Al-Hamouri stressed on the hospitality and the readiness of the private hospitals sector in Jordan to receive patients from the Kurdistan region and to provide them with access to appropriate health and treatment services.
 
Dr. Al-Hamouri thanked the channels and the press who were part of this visit to promote the medical and therapeutic tourism in Jordan. He also thanked the Jordanian Consulate General, the Health Attaché in Erbil and the Jordan Tourism Board for their positive contribution to the success of this visit.
 
The team conducted television interviews with directors of some of the private hospitals who reviewed all the factors that encourage patients from the Kurdistan region of Iraq to seek treatment in Jordan, including the availability of qualified medical cadres, the modern medical equipment in line with the international standards in addition to the competitive prices, and the absence of patient wait times and most importantly entry visa to Jordan can be obtained for them within 24 hours.
 
The team also held a press interview with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hikmat Abu Al-Ful, during which he reviewed Jordan’s medical achievements and the Health sector facilities and services provided in the Kingdom to non-Jordanians. 
 
Dr. Abu Al-Ful pointed that the Ministry of Health is seeking the best medical services for the foreign patients, through the partnership and cooperation with the Association of Private Hospitals.
Adding that the number of Iraqi patients who received treatment in Jordanian private hospitals reached over seven thousand during the past seven months.
 
Dr. Abu Al-Ful pointed to the Medical and Health Responsibility Law issued in Jordan to guarantee patient and doctor rights.
 
The media team members thanked the Private Hospitals Association and the Jordanian Consulate in Erbil for the knowledge they gained on the outstanding medical services offered in the Kingdom.
