Libyan ambassador discusses debt file with representatives of private hospitals

     

 

Libyan Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Mohamed Al-Barghathi said that a Libyan delegation at the highest level will visit Jordan soon for talks with senior officials in the Jordanian government and the Libyan debt owed to the Jordanian private hospitals will lead the talk’s agenda.
 
This came during a meeting between Dr. Barghathi and the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri and representatives of the private hospitals that have unpaid debts for treating Libyan patients and injured, in the presence of the Libyan health Attaché  Dr. Adel Al-Aqibi.
 
Dr. Al-Barghathi thanked the private hospitals that received the Libyan patients and injured after calamities of 2011 and treated them. He said that none of these hospitals hesitate to receive and treat Libyan patients and injured. He also praised the efforts of Jordanian doctors and hospitals staff to treat these patients .
 
 
He said that the Libyan people highly appreciate the special treatment provided by the Jordanian private hospitals to the Libyan patients and injured in the difficult circumstances of Libya, as well as the patience of these hospitals not to recollect their debts despite the passage of several years.
 
 
He added that Libya is now going through exceptional circumstances with high cost, but expressed his confidence that the Libyan people will emerge from this crisis more solid.
The Libyan ambassador pointed out that the aim of his meeting with representatives of private hospitals is to remove any vagueness or confusion about the Libyan debt owed to these hospitals and stressed his keenness to close the debt file, pay to them and that the rights of hospitals are protected.
He added that there is a desire among the concerned leaders in Libya to discuss the debts with the Jordanian government as soon as possible within the framework of a serious process to address the debt file and subject these debts to a review by a competent authority. He pointed out that contacts at the highest level were held in this regard between Jordan and Libya and a new rules on how to cooperate in the field of health will be established.
 
From his side, the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association stressed the keenness of the private hospitals sector on the sustainability of the relationship with the Libyan brothers and said that the private hospitals have endured the hardships of receiving and treating large numbers of Libyan patients and injured in compliance with their duty towards the brotherly Libyan people.
 
He added that the Private Hospitals Association highly appreciates the personal interest of Libyan ambassador and Libyan officials at the highest level regarding the debt file and the need to settle this file through the visit of the President of the Libyan Ministerial Council to Amman soon.
 
Dr. Al-Hammouri expressed his hope that the Libyan debt file will be processed as soon as possible and that a new page will be opened in dealing between the two countries in the field of medical treatment, training and investment.
