Workshop on Financial Clearing Regulations between Government Entities and the Private Sector

The Private Hospitals Association organized a training workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to explain the implementation mechanism of the finance clearing regulations between governmental entities and the private sector that have been recently adopted by the government and published in the official newspaper.

Mr. Hussam Abu Ali, Assistant to the MoF Secretary General, explained to private hospitals’ representatives that the newly adopted regulations came to solve a need and to facilitate payment of government dues by the private sector. He explained: “a special committee has been formed at the MoF which is responsible to receive payment application from the private sector, which includes details and values of undisputed payments due by various governmental bodies. The committee will then send the application to the concerned entity to verify the payment and notify the committee accordingly”.

The committee must submit its decision regarding the payment within two weeks from application submission date. Moreover, all fines and due interests will be stopped effective the date of the committee approval decision. The committee decision will be sent to Cash Management Directorate at MoF to take the necessary procedures.

On his part Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Chairman of the PHA, thanked the MoF for issuing these regulations which he hoped will help in solving the financial problems that private hospitals may experience.
